This paper proposes new over- and underperformance measures to complement previous measures of inequality and convergence. These measure are illustrated using subnational HDIs for 1778 regions in 163 countries.

During the virtual conference of the International Society for Quality of Life Studies (ISQOLS) we have a symposium on multidimensional poverty. I also present further papers in other sessions.

In this talk I present preliminary results of an on-going research project with Iñaki Permanyer. We propose measures for relative over- and under-performance to complement established methods of inequality measurement and convergence analysis, which are illustrated using subnational HDI data.
