I’m a Serra Húnter Assistant Professor (professor lector) at the University of Barcelona, Department of Econometrics, Statistics and Applied Economics (research group Governments and Markets). I received my PhD in economics from TU Dortmund in Germany, where I previously studied economics and sociology.
I’m also a Research Associate with the Oxford Poverty and Human Development Initiative (OPHI) at the University of Oxford, affiliated with the Center for Demographic Studies (CED) at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, a member of Equalitas, a network of Spain-based researchers working on poverty and inequality, and a Fellow of the Global Labor Organization.
Broadly speaking, I’m interested in questions about conceptualization, measurement and analysis of human well-being and related inequalities. More specifically, I’m currently working on multidimensional poverty measurement and analysis, subjective well-being, and the capability approach.
In my work with OPHI, I’m co-leading the estimations of the global multidimensional poverty index (MPI) among other things.
